Most IRC clients support color, both in terms of displaying colors correctly and allowing you to type messages that contain colors. Color is most effective when used sparingly. It is important to steer clear of color combinations that are unnecessary or hard to read. With it, one can add extra emphasis to typed words, and make them look prettier and more eye-catching.
